Method of Treatment
Termex can be used both in Pre and Post construction Treatment. Treatment should be as per IS 6313 (Part 2): 2001 and IS 6313 (Part 3): 2001 for Pre-Construction chemical treatment and for Post-Construction chemical treatment as under:

Pre-Construction Treatment

Stage I - Masonry Foundation & Basements
The bottom surface and the sides of foundation pits upto a height of about 30 cm should be treated @ 5 L/sq.m area with the help of TermeX ready solution.

Stage 2 - Refill Earth
The backfill earth in immediate contact with the foundation structure should be treated @ 7.5 L of TermeX ready solution per square meter of the vertical surface of the sub-structure for each side.

Stage 3 - Under Slab
Before laying the slab on the floor the top of the consolidated earth should be treated with TermeX ready solution @5L/sq.m. The treated soil must not be disturbed between the time of application and laying of slab on the floor.
If the filled earth has been well rammed and the surface does not allow the termiticide solution to seep through, holes upto 5-7.5 cm deep & 12 mm diameter at 15cm intervals to be made for facilitating saturation of the soil with the chemical.

Stage 4 - External Perimeter
If the refill earth was not treated, the earth along the external perimeter of the building after completion should be rodded at 15cm interval to a depth of 30 cm to expose the foundation wall surface. TermeX ready solution should be poured along the wall @ 7.5 L/sq.m of the vertical surface and the earth tamped back into place.

Stage 5 - RCC Foundation & Basements
The concrete is hard, which the termites are unable to penetrate. Excavations in this case should start at a depth of 50 cm below the ground level.
If the ground level is raised or lowered by filling or cutting after the foundations have been cast, the depth of 50 cm shall be determined from the new soil level. The soil in immediate contact with the vertical surfaces of RCC foundations should be treated @7.5 L/sq.m of TermeX ready solution.

Post Construction Treatment

Destruction of termite mounds:
Termite mounds are to be located in and around construction sites. These mounds should be cut open and TermeX ready solution @ 20 L/mound poured into them.

External perimeter/along outside of foundations:
The soil in contact with the external wall of the building should be treated with TermeX ready solution @ 7.5 L/sq.m of the vertical surface of the sub structure to the depth of 30cm. a shallow channel can be excavated along and close to the wall and rodding with 12mm diameter mild steel rods at 15 cm interval to a depth of 30 cm can be done for uniform dispersal of the chemical.

Prevent entry of termites from cracks:
The soil under the floor should be treated and 12mm holes drilled at 30 cm interval, at the junction of floor and wall upto the depth of 30cm. TermeX ready solution should be applied into these holes using a hand operated ressure pump @1L per hole and sealed subsequently after the treatment.

Restricting movement of termites through masonry walls:
This is done by drilling 12mm holes at 30 cm intervals in masonry wall at plinth level at about 450o angle on both the sides of the wall. TermeX ready solution @1L per hole should be applied and the holes sealed subsequently. This treatment can also be extended to internal walls having foundations in the soil.
