How are less permeable soils, which cannot take high volume of termiticide solution treated ?
In less permeable soils, the volume of water used for dilution is reduced while maintaining the recommended dose of the active ingredient (a.i.) per unit area. For e.g. instead of the recommended a.i. concentration and volume of water i.e. 10.5 ml of the formulated product / 5 L of water / m2, apply 10.5 ml / 2.5 L of water / m2.

What will be the frequency of TERMEX 350 SC re-treatment when used in either pre- or post-construction termite treatment?
Survey carried out in different countries have indicated that termiticides with Imidacloprid as the active ingredient (a.i.) showed almost 4-fold reduction in retreats compared to all other products used previously and was found to be active at least for 10 years under the testing conditions laid out by USDA/FS in a study which is still continuing.
Termiticide re-treatment should be carried out only if there is clear evidence of possible termite activity. Swarms of winged reproductives flying from the soil or wood are the first indication of termite infestation in a building. Other termite infestation indicators are pencil-wide mud foraging tubes on foundation walls, support piers, sill plates, floor joints, headers and sub-floors, damaged wood which is usually hollowed out or live termites in an active infestation.
Finally, no matter what product we use, the most common reason for retreats is not because termiticide has degraded - but might be because of the failure to ensure complete coverage of termite foraging / entry points. Even with product such as TERMEX 350 SC, which has shown "Lateral Soil Movement", termites can emerge from holes not bigger than pinheads at the soil surface if the treatment is not carried out as per the recommendation.
Preventive termite treatment with TERMEX 350 SC in the termite infestation prone areas at the outset may have additional residual benefits. If the original points of entry are denied and the above ground infestation is eliminated, the rest of the termite population may not return and infest for years.
